Keg at the brewery tap room, 31/10/14. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is light roast, cocoa nibs, hoppy back pangs, liqourice, candied fruit peel, light pine. Taste comprises subtle roastings, big hop notes, touch of dark fruits, sweet licks, brown sugar, light pine, liqourice stick. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light spice and sweet balance in the close. Decent porter if a little overly sweet at times, the prominent hop presence and pine linger bring about shades of CDA crossover to this number.

Keg at Redchurch - London. Pours deep black-brown with a big, thick cappuccino head. Rich dark malt aroma with notes of charred wood, maple syrup, general roast. Medium to heavy sweet flavor, a bit cloying, with lots of strong charred malts, burnt wood, earth, chocolate, bittersweet cocoa. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with lots of syrupy dark, burnt sugars, strong roast, earth, booze, wood. A bit heavy handed and lacking in cohesion.

Keg at the brewery. Opaque black / dark caramel brown coloured pour with a lasting tan head. Aroma is nice choc, ashy roast and piney citrus american c hop. Aroma is of a nice black IPA. Flavour is nutty, choc, smooth Roasty malts, piney citrus hop and warming alcohol solvent that cones through at the end. Palate is semi sweet, oily on the tongue, moderate carbonation. Little plastic flavour is finish. Sort of a black India porter that works pretty well.
