Friday 19th Feb 2016: I am currently loading a backlog of about 100 beers and it is making me thirsty. I have chosen this 500ml bottle to remedy the situation. Poured into a UK pint sleeve (Batemans badged) it will be taken with a Strong Cheddar Cheese and Rocket sandwich of brown bread. Slight hazy look to the dull golden body, the head is a steady but thin white covering. Fruity, citrus feel running through the brew, pick it up in the nose and it carries on right through to the aftertaste. Refreshing yes, my sort of beer no. Just what I need at the moment but I am not a huge fan of grapefruit and lemon flavoured beers really. I suspect there is a lot more Cascade than Challenger in the hop content.

Cask at moon under water Watford. Golden colour with a lasting loose white head. Aroma is nice orangey citeus , some other tropical fruits, lemon and mineral. Palate is light and watery. Flavour is lemony, grapefruit hop. Some cif lemon. Lingering aggressive bitterness is overdone and out of balance. Otherwise it is a well made refreshing golden ale.

Cask @ Eccles Cross, Manchester. Golden ale with a thin head. It has a very dry drinking character with slightly skunky hop aroma but a pleasant hoppy taste. It’s a little thin in its texture.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Cask. Pretty much a clear gold beer, tiny white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Smooth light malt, lightly sweet. Light sweet floralness. Mellow citric hops - mild orange and orange peel. More floralness before.a smooth semi dry finish. Mild bitter linger. Well balanced and drinkable.
