Gravity dispense at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 03/04/14. Dark mahogany brown with a thin light tan covering. Nose is light roast, cardboard tones, toffee, dark fruit. Taste comprises cocoa powder, tangy dark fruits, earthy twinge, toffee, light herbal. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so stout, canโ€™t say I got the beetroot.

Cask gravity at Craft 100. Iy pours dark brown with minimal head. The nos is toasty, salted liquorice, earth, ash, charred wood and cocoa. The taste is smooth, roasted malt, toast, pretty earthy, ash, mild acidity and coffee with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty earthy. Interesting stuff.

On cask at Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield - Deep ruby red body, thick white head. Nose has sweet vanilla overtones, with the usual coffee and chocolate at the back. Taste is very similar, with a smooth texture. Canโ€™t pick out the beetroot, but it is a bloody nice stout.

Hazy black colour. Aroma has strong roast malt and occasional sweetness of beetroot. Texture is thin but oily. Flavour is of a typical roast malt stout but with a sweet, earthy finish.
