This is a tremendously delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

Hazy golden color with a white head. Mild farmhouse yeast, citric and moderate fruity aroma. Quite nice and fresh. Medium (+) body and an ok carbonation. Pleasant acidity and kind of semi dry texture. Framhouse yeast, citric and moderate fruity flavor as well. Nice easy going Saison.

From a bottle at Haand Ølfestival 2015, shared with Finn. Hazy golden body under a white, filmy layer. Dotted spots on the glass. Moderate aroma of peach, farmyard and yeast. Spiced fruity taste, dough and peach. Drying end, hints of bitter yeasty fruitiness. Mostly hidden alcohol. Accepted (Drammen 29.05.2015).

0.75l bottle. Hazy golden body, white head. Aroma of bread, citruses, horse blanket and peach. Taste of peach, bread, cheese and some citruses. Quite bitter saison, but it’s very fruity at the same time. Truly awesome beer.

Bottle with thanks to MrH. Odd that I haven’t tried this one yet... Pours hazy butterscotch, large off-white head, creamy and slow to dissipate with nice lacing in its wake. Aroma is unusual, honey for sure, fruity, grassy, malt syrups? Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, spicy and somewhat smoky, caramel, grass, honey, overripe stone fruits, pepper, perhaps a bit of funk. Medium body, high carbonation.

0,75 bottle at Backdoor pub in Ghent-Belgium with markoijelena. Pale golden completely cloudy, tick white head with drafts. Nose: Belgian yeast, sweet fruity aroma, apricot and peach. Mouth: distinctive background sourness, Bitter finish, highly carbonated with a distinctive and pleasant summer fruit character (peach blast). A gem! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

75cl bottle at Crowbar, Oslo. Pours slightly hazy golden with a big, white head. Yeasty and somewhat fruity aroma with wheat, some acidic notes and hints of hops. Sweet, tasty and quite flavourful with a certain acidity. Nice and refreshing saison.

Poured into a teku showing a very cloudy and dark honey yellow with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows extremely strong tart aromas of lemon, mango, apricot, and peaches. Aromas are balanced with very noticeably sweet ripe peach notes. The palate is full bodied and aggressively carbonated. The first impression shows a lot of round sweet malts mixed in with a sweet peach or bubble gum forwardness/background (not sweetness) that gives it a fruit profile. A slight refreshing bitterness on the finish that appears akin to a pilsner. As the description suggests, the fruit overlay works very well on the palate with the sweet malts.
