Oude Kriek De Cam is an oude kriek released sporadically in 375ml and 750ml bottles and is labeled 6.5% ABV. De Cam Oude Kriek is primarily available in Europe. Schaerbeekse cherries from the farms of Karel Goddeau's family are used when they are available, however Polish cherries provided by Frank Boon are used when they are not available.

(750ml 2018 bottle from Etre) Pours deep red, nearly purple, with a little haze and a big pile of pink foam and lace. Notes of ripe almost jammy dark cherries with a good bit of residual sweetness to match the tartness, tannic cherry skins, quite some drying wood, light lactic tartness with a little citric edge, hint of marzipan, fairly mild presence of earthy funk but with the profile I associate with De Cam, long light sweet and tart slightly mineral cherry infused finish and aftertaste. Light to medium body with high but smooth effervescence. Much more like the De Cam gueuzes in balance than their still fruit lambics, which tend to be very acidic. Maybe not the most complex but a very enjoyable kriek.

Bottle. High assertive sourness, lots of it. Lots of funk, horse blanket, hay. Also lots of cherry character, classic natural feeling. Could use a bit more complexity, feels a bit simple. Still quite good, just not great.

Bottle, 2018. Color: Dark hazy, almost purple red, very large fast disappearing pink head. A lot of fizzing carbonation in the glass. Aroma: Funky sweet and sour dark cherries. Taste: Moderate sweet and over moderate to medium tart dark cherries, very fruity, quite a lot of funk, nice notes of wood. Tannins, dry mouthfeel. Over medium body, just below average carbonation, although it's still fizzy in the bottle. Well balanced, nice complexity. A real nice Kriek.
