Bottle shared at Klooster. Murky ruby with no head. Notes of cherries, macerated cherries and sherry, lambic funk. Very tart, lactic, with only a hint of sweetness. Medium body, low carbonation and a tart finish.

9/VIII/16 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: 2009 (2016-819)

Very murky cloudy deep ruby red to purplish beer, small creamy pink to orange head. Lots of residue, both in the glass (it's like freshly squeezed fruit juice!) and on top of the foam. Holy moly, how many cherries are in this bottle? :o Aroma: very fruity, krieken all the way! Funky wood notes, bit lemony. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: so much krieken! An overload of cherries, yet nothing sweet or artificial at all!! Little bitter, some tannins, soft acidity, some almonds. Aftertaste: wood notes, bit sourish, little bitter in the finish, shitload of cherries again. What a beer!

750ml Bottle at home shared with myself, 26th March 16. Pours dark pink red. Aroma is cherry, cherry skin and stone, funky. Taste is sour cherry pulp, red wine vinegar, pretty tart finish, no sign of the 6.5. Quite an experience. Great stuff from De Cam

Purple color with pink head. Aroma is cherries, lemons, not so much funk. Taste is sour, cherries, dry, mouth-puckering. Very sour, but good stuff.

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Well carbonated, less cherry, very very sour, pinching palate. Very pure cherry though, borderline artificial.

Bottle. Cork says bb 2039, label a crossed out 2009. Who knows, but you’d guess this is recent because the cherries are a big presence. Deep clear red with a pink head that is soon gone. Brooding cherry aroma with somewhat medicinal wood and herbal notes. Taste is unexpected vinous with a palate that’s more acid and seemingly tannic than sour. Earthy with cherries, blackberries, almonds. Like biting down to the stone of a really fat sour cherry. so full of cherries but they’re seamlessly integrated into the beer overall. deeper cherry flavours than any other Kriek I’ve had and a very fine beer.
