Karhu III is a full-bodied and hearty lager. The beer offers a stronger hops and malt flavour compared to other regular lagers. The first Karhu beers were enjoyed in Pori in the 1920’s. Karhu was brewed in the Pori region up until the beginning of 1930’s but then it began a long hibernation period. Karhu has been continuously brewed since 1958, first in class I.

Had this one long time ago. I remember I was disappointed with it despite friend claiming it is much better than Lapin Kulta.

33cl can from Stockmann, Helsinki. Pours clear golden with a small, white head. Quite standard pale lager. Sweet and grainy with hints of cooked vegetables and grass. Some bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, but boring and best avoided.

33cl can poured into a shaker. Pours a clear, very dark gold with not much head. Aroma of corn, grains and some light caramel and earthy herbal hops. Taste is light bitter. Grains, herbal grassy hops and light corn. Medium bodied with a thin yet and slick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. My mom brought this back from her trip to Finland so I’m stoked. Plus, that bear looks kinda badass.
