Karhu III is a full-bodied and hearty lager. The beer offers a stronger hops and malt flavour compared to other regular lagers. The first Karhu beers were enjoyed in Pori in the 1920’s. Karhu was brewed in the Pori region up until the beginning of 1930’s but then it began a long hibernation period. Karhu has been continuously brewed since 1958, first in class I.

Bottle. It pours a nice-looking dense, off-white head over a clear, golden body. The aroma is slightly unpleasant, with plastic, cooked vegetables and fruityness. The fruityness is the good part of the aroma. Luckily the flavor is more interesting, with some maltyness in the back, and fruity, grassy hops up front. Just a touch of bitterness, both initially and in the end. Medium body with decent carbonation level. Except for the aroma, it’s a decent pale lager, but I sure won’t drink it again. 110916

33 cl bottle @ Accenture christmas party
Somewhat light aroma has some grass, starch and hints of grainy malt. flavour has grass and grainy malt with somewhat starchy feeling. And very starchy aftertaste with hints of metal. One of the best finnish bulk lagers but nothing much still.

Canned, pint. Pours clear golden colour with medium sized creamy white head. Malty aroma with hints of grains. Medium sweetish taste with short and mild hoppy aftertaste. Light bodied with thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Average lager, however with slightly stronger character than Karjala...

Claer light orange, large thick vast white head. Smell malts and grains. Taste malts, grains and very much like an ordinary pilsener. Decent for a pale lager, but nothing special at all.
