Karhu III is a full-bodied and hearty lager. The beer offers a stronger hops and malt flavour compared to other regular lagers. The first Karhu beers were enjoyed in Pori in the 1920’s. Karhu was brewed in the Pori region up until the beginning of 1930’s but then it began a long hibernation period. Karhu has been continuously brewed since 1958, first in class I.

Backlog September 2011. Pale golden body under a white head. Aroma has malt, grain, hint of bread and otherwise rather typical macro lager aroma. Taste is slightly on the sweeter side with malt, moderate bitterness and again typical macro lager flavor. Medium body with same aftertaste. Decent but nothing extraordinary.

Straight from the can. Smooth, sweet lager, but the drinkable kind, surprisingly alright.

Sauna beer at my aunt's, Jaali. Aroma is grainy with light citrus. Clear amber. Frothy white head. Metallic. Sour edge. Citrus. Malts. Light. Thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Boring industrial lager

On tap at Helsinki Market, Helsinki Vantaa Airport. Golden with a white head. Sweetish with bread, light grain and notes of cardboard. Boring.
