Karhu III is a full-bodied and hearty lager. The beer offers a stronger hops and malt flavour compared to other regular lagers. The first Karhu beers were enjoyed in Pori in the 1920’s. Karhu was brewed in the Pori region up until the beginning of 1930’s but then it began a long hibernation period. Karhu has been continuously brewed since 1958, first in class I.

Kullankeltainen kirkas olut pienellä, nopeasti häviävällä vaahdolla. Hieman katkeroa, aika vetinen.

Can, 4.6%. Metallic, grainy aroma. Dark golden colour, perhaps greyish copper. Small white head. The flavour is grainy and caramelly with a low bitterness. Rather standard and not so interesting.

Bottle at Vapiano, Helsinki. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light hop. The flavour is medium bitter, with a light metallic hop bitter, light earthy mineral palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. When I saw the label I was going to write home about this one, but when I tasted it, I ate my writing paper to take the taste away!
