This robust porter has dark satisfying flavours of local marris otter malt, with a hint of smoke, roasted malts and the tang of Centennial and Wakatu hops. Wild damsons ripened in the summer sun of north Norfolk give this dessert ale a luscious fruity twist. Brewed on Tuesday 22 December 2012. Bottled 16.2.2013.

275ml bottle from the brewery. Picked up December 2013. The latest brew. 6.1%. Clear, plum colour. Thick halo of off white head. Unripe stone fruit. Light smoke. Light, grassy hop. Taste is tart and unripe fruit dry. Fairly bitter, too. Palate is tart and lively. Finish is dry, tart and lengthy, light bitter. Comes across too tart for a porter. As a sour ale, though, it’s pretty decent...
