Bottle from Ellie’s Cellar. Dark brown body with a thin head that fades. No lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder, vanilla and orange. Flavour of wood, caramel, chocolate and coffee. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Thin and a bit diluted.

Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. It pours very dark brown with a beige rim. The nose is immensely chocolate, more on the milky/chocolate cake side than the dark variety....not much else, perhaps some oreos and caramel. The taste is chocolate, oreos, caramel, roasted malt, wood, light astringency and gateaux with some bitterness in the finish. Light-medium body and pretty much flat (a shame!). The smell is rather sickening after a while. Pretty one-dimensional and the condition isn’t great. Not for me. If you like the Sam Smiths Choc Stout you’ll enjoy this.
