500ml Bottle - Brown with some orangey tinges. Spicy and fruity aroma with notes of cinnamon, ginger and cloves. The taste is similar and is like a cross between a mince pie and a Christmas cake.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours hazy brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of red fruit, light spice, ginger and cloves. Taste is sweet, cinnamon and cola. Thin finish, can’t get the cola likeness out of my head.

Bottle from Islay Ales. Appearance - dark brown and cloudy wit has thin off white head. Nose - loads of cloves, maybe prunes. Raisins. Taste - major ginger and dried fruit notes. A bit too ginger. Then cola bottle notes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - interesting and general cola thing going on. A bit thin though and ginger too dominant.

5.2% part of a Rakuten 12 pack. It is a nice looking beer pouring a very dark brown with a light beige head. The aroma is sweet ginger. The flavor is a zesty sweet giner which was unexpected but nice. Possibly a touch too sweet. I get lemon, ginger, some dark chocolate malt notes(very subtle) but no cinnamon at all. An interesting twist on a dark beer, it reminds me of Ichijoji Brewery’s Black Pearl Grapefruit Stout. Some roast coffee notes in the aftertaste. Not too bad but be warned it is mostly ginger in the flavor profile. After it had warmed up more of the chocolate malts come through and it balances out.

Bottle from Islay Ales. It pours darkest mahoganny with a medium beige head. The nose is ginger, cinnamon, Xmas pudding, light roast, coffee, faint malt vinegar and aniseed. The taste is sour malt, cola, ginger ale, cinnamon, roasted malt, sherbet, dark fruit and charcoal with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting... not sure that the light sourness should be there, but drinks quite well at the mo.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Very dark brown. Aroma is completely dominated by ginger and cinnamon. Fairly slender bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Flavour of sheer gingersnap dough with ginger, cinnamon and caramel ans components. Citric finish with some perfumy bitterness.

Bottle on the train from Edinburgh - 08/12/12. Opaque mahogony brown with a tan head that retains well. Nose is liqourice, dark toffee, medicinal tones, touch of plastic. Taste comprises spruce bark, medicinal notes, herbs, light roast malt, root ginger, touch of smoke. Medium bodied, light spritzyness in the carbonation, bitter finish. Quite a bit going on flavour wise but pretty average in its execution.
