Cask handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Tuesday 31st July 2012 Pours dark golden with a slim white head. Hoppy in a very restrained English way, I understand that this is brewed with 10 different English hops so I knew it would have a very English feel about it. Smooth with a gentle but noticeable bitterness, good bittersweet balance, touch of late bite, getting better, little bit of dryness. To use an appropriate Olympic analogy it isn’t quite a Daley Thompson. Whilst a contender it is certainly more of a Dean Macey. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2
