We usually do not make compromises, but this is probably the exception. Norwegians are dead scared of dark beers. This is an attempt to show that there are gentle dark ales. As such Havre Stout is smooth and drinkable.
We think Havre Stout is good both with and in food. Try pairing it with a read meet dish, or give your vanilla icecream a small dash before serving. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F.
11°P 20 IBU 4,5% ABV.

Tap @ Beer Temple (sample size). Black color. Beige/light brown head with big bubbles. Aroma’s: roasted, mocha, ground coffee, iets gebrand zurig. Flavor is hard roasted, light sweet, light bitter. Body is on the thin side. Finishes somewhat dry, light ashy, light bitter. A bit more body would have been nice.

Draft @ beer temple. Body of sweet malt, with some notes of coffee and milky cacao. Notes of vanilla and a spicey touch. Very nice.

bottle from the beer shop at viktoriagade. very dark brown, brown head that soon dissapears. dusty aroma, hard roasted malts, licorice, dark chocolate. flavor is very nice, light, hard roasted malts, bitterness from hops, but not at all in the way , good balance, reminds me slightly of the way a very well brewed schwarzbier would taste, but has a little bit more sweet stoutish notes. super drinkable, great job.

Bottle @ Setka Pub, Poznań. Pours cloudy nearly black with airy tan head. Clear, roasted aroma, with notes of hops and caramel malt. Bitter, roasty flavour, with notes of malt. Lingering, bitter aftertaste. A rather thin body for a sweet stout. Not sweet at all and rather watery.

Bottle; paired with food as the label suggests ;) Aroma begins with very intensive aroma of coffee, but after a while the beer feels quite gentle, showing some dark chocolate, a little bit of hops. Lightly sour, slight bitterness. Black colour with brown head. Surprisingly thin texture. The beer is ok, but it could be more intensive.

Batch 887B. Best before 05.11.13. A geysir of foam until bottle was totally empty. Dark brown with brown head. Fizzy and thin mouthfeel. Modest aroma of dark malts and green apples. Similar taste. Short aftertaste. Probably (hopefully) bottle fault.
