Hopped black ale with a fruit aroma. Has a thick cream head and is extremely strong, so much so it hides the potential taste.

Cask-conditioned at the Cask, Pub and Kitchen 16/04/2012. Near black with a slight tan head. Aroma of plain chocolate, roasted malts, pine and a touch of citrus. Flavour had more chocolate, caramel, black coffee and a warming finish. Tailed off after an excellent aroma, but enjoyable overall.

CP&K. Opaque black beer. Decent bubbly tan head. Smooth palate with mild fine carbonation. Rich dark malt, not bitter or roasty, but with good coffee and unsweet dark chocolate. Then an odd bitter milk flavour emerges. Can’t recall ever tasting this in a beer before. Fortunately it doesn’t ruin the beer but it does bring it down a few pegs. Semi dry finish. Bitter linger.
