Based on our most award-winning beer, Denver Pale Ale, this copper-hued treat is a celebration of everything Great Divide does best. Plenty of malty sweetness provides a backdrop for earthy, floral English and American hops, while French and American oak round off the edges and provide a touch of vanilla. Thanks to everyone who’s supported us for the last 15 years - here’s to 15 more!

17th Anniversary. Poured a crystalline copper color with a good 2 finger head that reduced to 1 finger width and stayed there for the whole glass, good lacing. Aroma has a nice peppery spicy hop, other indistinct spiciness, some tropical fruit, and a good measure of oak. Right up my alley. Flavor has a spicy resiny hop, a bit piney, malt is bready, toasty, semi-dry leading into a medium bitter finish. General background of oak flavor. Lingering aftertaste is spicy resiny hop. Somewhat balanced, its pretty tasty and drinkable.

17th Anniversary bottle shared by a traveling HSC member. Pours a clear dark reddish-orange color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of oak, floral hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, oak, malt and a touch of vanilla. The finish is hoppy with a woody aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle of the 17th Anniversary. Pours a dark orange-copper with thin to no head. Taste contains some hop bitterness, but more malt and caramel. Sweet finish. Complex aromas. This is a very interesting beer.

22 oz bottle. Bright orange amber pour with an off-white head. Aroma is strong in citrus, spicy hops, maybe a bit of wood and a little caramel. Hop flavors mainly in the spicy, citrus, pine regions I think, but seem a bit dulled by the wood aging flavors. Finishes with a citrus flavor and some bitterness, but not particularly high bitterness for a double IPA. It’s really good, but it doesn’t really have the "punch" I was expecting.

Draught. Red orange pour with thin head. Some citrus and much floral hop in aroma, but not a full aroma. Floral flavour with a full body. Fast dissapearing hop finish.

As "15th Anniversary"
Beautiful amber color; big head, creamy.
Aroma of toffee, light butter, light hops, light vanilla oak.
Sweet caramel and toffee flavor, with a bold body and a soft and round mouthfeel; the bitterness is quite strong, but without interesting hop qualities; unfortunately the bitterness and the vanilla oak contribute in creating a suspicious butter feeling; this is a tad too much even for me, in the end.
It finishes with buttery and bitter toffee.

Bomber from De Bierkoning. Pours a copper color with huge, off white head that keeps growing, and good lacing. Aroma’s of sweet fruits (apricot/peach), sweet malts, wood/vanilla, floral hops. Flavor is fairly sweet with some upcoming bitterness. Full bodied. Bitterness becomes stronger in the finish with more woody notes. I’m usually not a huge fan of DIPA, but this is well balanced and delicious.
