A strong, silky smooth imperial stout with a deep, dark ruby appearance. Mocha, bitter chocolate, liquorice and dark cherry flavours prevail, before the balanced, warming and encapsulating finish.
A contemporary Scottish take on an age old Russian classic style originally brewed for the Tsars. Our interpretation brings together hops from both sides of the Atlantic, amazing flavoured malts and dark sugars.
Like the original BrewDog, this beer would never bite you but would much rather give you a lick on the face. Look Out!
Serving Suggestion: Enjoy with an air of aristocratic nonchalance

Bottle @home, proudly celebrating St Andrews Day. Pours opaque black, with rich creamy lasting beige head. Full body, excellent lacing, dry bitter finish, strong bitter aftertaste, smooth oily rich mouthfeel, average carbonation. Strong aromas and tastes of roasted barley, coffee, dark chocolate, dried fruits, cherries, citrus peel, brown sugar. Long lasting chocolate notes. Very good!

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. Nice stout with notes of coffee, roast, and chocolate.

Bottle from Masuyo’s. Pours an inky black with no head. Bottle is good until 2018. Nose has some coffee, 85% cacao, with some wood and alcohol as it warms up. Syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation and medium body. Roasted coffee and burned caramel taste is present with some chocolate and fruit in there as well. Has a nice touch of sourness and bitterness. Slight warming finish with lingering bitterness. Decent enough but pretty one-dimensional.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Pitch black pour, 1 finger tan foamy head. Aroma is sharp boozy, roasted malt, a bit of raisin. Taste is big and roasty with booziness, good amount of bitterness. Sharp and complex. Really solid imperial stout that's got lots going on while still being very drinkable.
