A strong, silky smooth imperial stout with a deep, dark ruby appearance. Mocha, bitter chocolate, liquorice and dark cherry flavours prevail, before the balanced, warming and encapsulating finish.
A contemporary Scottish take on an age old Russian classic style originally brewed for the Tsars. Our interpretation brings together hops from both sides of the Atlantic, amazing flavoured malts and dark sugars.
Like the original BrewDog, this beer would never bite you but would much rather give you a lick on the face. Look Out!

Keg at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours jet black with a tight tan head, which lasts down to the end. Aromas are dark chocolate and coffee. Taste has more of the same, with an excellent roasted bitterness. For an 8% Imperial Stout, pretty damn good.

Dobre i perfekcyjne piwo, jak na imperiala takze dobre. Piana sporawa jak na ten trudny gatunek. Jest zoltawo kremowa, a piwo czarne, a wiec gesty podwojny stout. W smaku lukrecja i gozka czekolada, lekkie nuty palonego slodu. Finisz wytrawny i rozgrzewajacy, choc alkohol w czasie degustacji wogole niewyczuwalny. Postmodernistyczne podejscie od BrewDoga. Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a thick frothy tan head and some broken lace. The aroma is bitter, alcoholic and of liqourice. The flavour is medium to stong bitter, with lots of liqourice, malt and a hint of fruit. The beer is smooth and rich. The bitterness clearly comes mainly from the alcohol, but it’s well controlled and doesn’t become dominant. A lot of imperial stouts become overly bitter and dominated by the alcohol.

Appearance: Black body with a huge light brown head that retains well. Good lacing.
Taste: Dark fruits, marzipan, salt and brown sugar. Quite sweet with very little alcohol burn.
Palate: Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Lively carbonation.
Overall: Unusual flavours with very well hidden alcohol.
