Bottle(courtesy of Quack-Duck!): Clear, deep mahagony computer, small stable off-white head; a certain fruitiness in the bitter-malty nose, some "english" or "medical" hops detectable; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; dry and lingering malty-medical and lemony finish with - surprise - a mild dash of warming alcohol in the aftertaste. A pleasant, archetypal english ale...

Cask at the Burlington Arms - Mayfair, London. Pours clear copper-gold with stick, lasting off-white cream head. The nose has orange citrus, pale grains, bread, hints of leaves. Light sweet flavor with a simple, creamy and lightly toasted malt base, more citrusy hops, a little twig and tangerine. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced on the finish with more pale bready malt character, Enlish yeast, twig, citrus, very slight toffee. Leafy bitterness in the aftertaste. A nice, easy-drinking golden bitter.
