To make Surly Wet we took 1,400 lbs of hops picked freshly in Oregon and shipped to Minnesota immediately. We brewed this beer three days later. This is a hop forward beer, dry with subdued malt flavors. 2009 vintage: 50% Simcoe, 50% Citra hops

Can thanks to Josh! Pours a clear orange amber with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a nice light pine and grassy hop note backed by a bit of light grain. Flavor has a bit more pine but it is mellowed by a grass note and is backed by just a bit of sweet grains.

500mL can, sent from Glouglouburp, pours hazy copper with a white head. Aroma of fresh hops, citrus and caramel malt backing. Flavour is definitely hoppy, but not over the top, with citrus and floral notes - it's quite nicely balanced, with a hoppy, but not so bitter, aftertaste. Quite nice, if a tad underwhelming.

16oz can pours a crystal clear orange amber with a frothy, lacing white head. Nose is really nice, floral, perfume, citrus fruits, pine sap, earthy, a little vegetal, a little candy, some cracker. Flavor is sweet, malty, light caramel, orange candies, bread dough, grapefruit juice, light pine, some light honey. Medium bodied, sweet, bitter finish. The nose has more of the strong hoppiness than the flavor, but still very drinkable.

Handbottle shared by daknole. Pours orange color with minimal white head. Lots of grapefruit and pine hops aroma. Bitter hop flavors of pine and grapefruit rind with a little sweetness. Medium body with minimal carbonation and a resinous mouthfeel.
