Cask at the Le Gothique’s Halloween Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear chestnut colour with a thin white head and good lacing. Slightly sulphureous aroma with notes of copper and malt. Flavours of grassy hop, orange peal and candy sugar. Malty finish with bready notes and some soft fruit.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival - Le Gothique, London. Pours clear, deep gold with a frothy white head. Dry and grainy bread in the nose with subtle dried berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with whole grain bread, faint toffee, dry fruits. LIght to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Medium sweet finish with further whole grain bread, pleasant fruit notes, mellow leafy bitterness. Nice.

Certainly has a chestnut appearance, quite an ordinary bitter in its character.
