Born in the luminous moors in an environment of untamed lochs and haunted Scottish castles, the ale Gordon Scotch Ale is so generous that it is willingly shared. Its white, unctuous foam, in total contrast with the dark brown elixir, is a pleasure for the palate. The connoisseur fraternity will recognise the authentic Scotch : the soul of the Scottish Highlands.

Nice scotch ale, spicey and malty, with a creamy touch. Still, thes beers are a bit too sweet for my taste.

On draught as "Mc Douglas Scotch Ale" and 7.9%. The beer is a dark brownish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that dissipates steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Medium-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of sweet malt, fruit and caramel. The finish is malty with a caramel and toffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

(Keg at ’t Pothuiske, 20130604) The beer poured deep reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and almost white. Aroma had caramell, chocolate, sweetness and malts. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, sweetness, raisin, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. Nothing special. A stong malty brew.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought somewhere in Belgium. Red brown with a thin off-white head. Malty nose with some hints of rye, although the latter is no ingredient. Must be the roasted barley then. Nice bitter taste with some molasses sweetness. Good long aftertaste.

malt caramel and deep toffee and alcohol hues on the nose. The appearance is a beautiful deep amber with a good head and lacing. Taste is lots toffee and caramel, middle has orange peel and touch of fennel bonfire toffee finish, lasting. Very sweet leading to a lightly bitter finish. Far from a great scotch, but they are not common beers so beggars can’t be choosers. A decent effort.

Bottle. Clear deep copper liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit, raw sugar, raisins, biscuit, caramel and light spices. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, dark fruit, raisins and chocolate. Medium bodied with low carbonation. All right.
