A cask version of the classic Oktoberfest-Märzen. Brewed with specially imported German malts, including Carahell and Cara-Munich for depth of colour and flavour. Noble hop varieties are added at three stage stages during the boil.

Cask handpull at The Rake. Another awesome beer form Dark Star. Some lager malts which are soft and stupidly drinkable in the mouth with some subtle hop flavours on the finish. I will try to get this again as I think I may rate this even higher. It’s just how drinkable it is with the interesting flavours in it making you want to drink it again.

Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London on 7th October 2009. Amber with offwhite head. Rich and intense hop flavours, a little delicate spiciness and slight cheese notes (desired) with a rich, intense hoppy finish of long duration. Excellent pint, perfectly kept.

Cask-condtioned at the Market Porter, Southwark 06/10/09. Amber coloured with a slight white head. My notes on this are scanty, but the spicy hops were the main feature alongside some fruitiness. Finish was pleasantly dry. Ok.
