The Two Roads interpretation of this emerging beer style naturally takes a road less traveled. Unlike other versions, ours employs an American ale yeast and no spices. The result is a soft wheat backdrop that accentuates the Pacific Northwest hop character.

Draught at CAMRA Winter Ales Festival 2017, Norwich. Pale yellow. Clear. Light carbonation. Aroma of banana and honey. Sweet taste - the honey never quite leaves the party but that’s OK, she’s the guest of honour - with a slight meady sour in the finish. Flat body. Good but not great, however I’m certainly enjoying.

Keg @ Hogshead Brewhouse, Sowerby Bridge. Dark amber and slightly hazed. Fairly crisp despite a light dryness with a floralness in both aroma and taste. Hardly any wheat character found on this occasion.

Can shared in London - many thanks to Dave. Pours hazy gold with a frothy, white head. The nose holds piney hops, lemon peel, pithy citrus. Ligh sweet flavour wig. Elbow pale malts, some floral hops, more pine needles, pithy citrus. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more pale bread, floral hops, straw, lemon rind. Not bad.

Can picked up at Wine Rack at Yarnton Nurseries, Yarnton, Oxon consumed, watching Show of Hands at Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Shrewsbury, Saturday 27th August 2016 Pours cloudy golden with a white head. A little bit citrus but there is also a wheaty character, I get some watery lemon, it’s fruity, it’s a decent IPA but never overly excited by this, I think that the session IPA works better.
