bottle pours dark brown medium light tan head. Aroma is strange metallic, wax and some booze. Flavor is very fruity. Strawberry, lots of honey and sour peach. Interesting, but good.

Bottle at Pre ZBF 2010. Earthmonk with champagne yeast. It is weird. Biscuity. Almost not sour at all. Very bready from the champagne yeast. It’s odd and that is the word that I kept saying as I drank it and talked about it. Good bread/yeast, some brandy like characters. But not really like Earthmonk at all. Odd, as I say, but I found the bready character very drinkable.

RBWG 2010. Pours dark reddish brown with thin tan head. Fruity and sour aroma. Flavors of vinegar, dark fruit, wood and strange mustiness. Medium body with soft carbonation. Not very good by Struise standards.

Black with a tiny beige head. Sourish aroma with plenty of yeast, roasted malt and not really anything else. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, rye bread, lacto and funk. Very weird brew this one. I think the champagne yeast screwed it.

Magnum bottle at pre-ZBF 2010. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is wineous, loads of champagne yeast, fruity and dark malty. Light alcohol presence, no real sweetness yet a sweet impression from the dense fruity note. Dark malty and overripe fruity. Dense fruity finish. Boozy lasting impression of the finish. This is mostly odd if anything.
