Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper/deep gold with lasting beige head. Malty and yeasty bitter aroma. It’s a slightly drying yeasty bitter like the majority of hydes beers. Dull but nothing wrong with it.

Cask, half pint at The Welkin (JDW), Liverpool. Slightly cloudy amber. Almost naked surface. Fruit-malty aroma. Some dark fruits and malts in flavour. Vapid bitterness. Little to offer and, in fact, not quite good in the mouth (04.05.2009).

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Gold with a thin cream head; earthy malt aroma; thin with an unpleasant sharp metallic flavour and a dry herbal finish. Horrible.
