Proeven is geloven…

Flesje gekregen van TomHendriksen. Diep donkerbruin bier, behoorlijk schuimend tijdens inschenken. Aroma van koffie en caramel. Smaak van koffie en rijpe vijgen. Nasmaak is iets bitter.

330mL bottle at Beer Temple, pours a dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted caramel bready malt, toffee and subtle dark fruits. Flavour is similar, with sherry, toffee, dark fruits and bready caramel malt. A little boozy with a nice warming effect. A little oxidized, but it's a pleasant oxidation. Very good.

Közepes, gyorsan olvadó hab, barna szín. Illata pörkölt malátás, karamelles, kisé szilvás. Malátás, karamelles, szilvás ízek, határozott fuszeres beütéssel. A magas alkoholtartalmat sikerült tökéletesen elrejteni. Testes, kissé száraz, közepesen szénsavas és keseru. Kissé a barley wine-okra hajazó, kellemes eros barna.

A dark brown beer, a head is small and light brown. Aroma has lots of dark and dried fruitness, raisin, prune, some red currants. Taste has dark fruits, prune, raisin, some spicyness, not too much of sweetness even it’s quite high level. So typical but also nicely balanced.

12oz bottle. Bottled on 12 Sep 2016. The ruby dark brown amber color of a typical Quad. Small head. Aroma is alcohol, thinned out raisins, candied alcohol at the end. Its a bit of an industrial, cheaper take on the style. Flavor is similar, less cheap but more alcohol. Seems very industrial for the style A little cheap.

Bottle. Mahagony/brown with a small head. Some floaties. Aroma of stone fruits and malts. Taste is plums, raisins, toffee, molasses, caramell and a little splash of citrus fruits. Some herbs, spices and a touch of liquorice. Hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Low carbonation. Creamy and oily. Alcohol is well hidden but makes its presence known. Quite nice but not outstanding. The american hops didnt have the impact I was expecting.

Tap at Brasserie V. Malty. Mild aspirin tones in the aroma. I don’t get much hop character, more of a big amber, brown, dark malt feel. Chewy, deep brown malts. Red fruit, dark fruit. Really solid true Quad.
