Proeven is geloven…

Lovely quad with a big body. Big malt base, very sweet with lots of caramel, balanced by a nice hop profile. Some dark fruit and berry notes, especially prunes, maybe some figs. Caramel and brown sugar. A tad boozy. Good! A really nice standard quad.

Medium brown, just a thin head. Rich, oxidized aroma with a depth of stewed fruits. LOL bottle date tells me Legacy grabbed some bona fide old stock. Fuck. So chewy with some cardboard. Old fruits. Fuck. What a waste of time - clearly aged in sub-standard conditions. If I made this beer, I would have some serious questions for the importer.

Creamy vanilla head stayed on ebony coloured still body. Liquorice, spice, brown sugar & berry aroma. Medium to full bodied, tingly to the fore, a creamy back & a clean aft. Malt, liquorice, raspberry, sweet citrus & cherry tastes with a fruity tangy finish.

Dec. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle at Birra+, Rome. It poured a hazy brown body with a smaller head. Complex and strong aroma, chocolate, caramel, some licorice and dried fruits. Touch of hops like citrus. Flavor was very lightly sweet, jam, dark fruit, chocolate and toffee with light herbal and woody note through it. Full bodied with long finish following the flavor. Alcohol was felt but kinda well hidden for 10%. A pleasant, serious strong Belgian style ale with an interesting touch of hops only in its nose.
