Proeven is geloven…

Bottle at restaurant Loetje, Breukelen. Served by a waitress who kept calling this beer 'Ongelofelijke Thomas' (Incredible Thomas)… :) Color: Reddish brown, thin beige head. Taste: Dark malt, caramel, herbal, some candy sugar and licorice, hints of rasins and alcohol. Nice bitterness for a Quad. Pretty easy drinkable given the alcohol. Nice one.

Bottle shared in Canary Wharf - won via lottery. Pours clear copper-ruby with a bubbly off-white head. Deep and rounded, with lots of bready malts, caramel, ripe berries, alcohol, some toffee, minimal bitterness. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, sweet and subtly sticky, more ripe berries and toffee, booze. Not bad.

On tap at Arends Nest Amdterdam 2018. some sweetness but mostly a good brown dry malty barley wine or indeed a quad certainly has the malt profile for a quad a little booze towards finish but hides and well. good dark fruits. I liked it.
