Bottle from local Home Bargains store (at 4.2%) – drank at home. Pours golden amber with minimal head. The aroma is a mix of flowery hops, lemongrass and molasses. In the mouth hoppy bitterness is the first thing to attract attention, but there is some underlying sweetness from the start and this becomes dominant. Flavour of honey, butter, unripe apples and orange peel plus hints of darker fruits. Sweetness lasts into the slightly dry finish. A bit strange this one.

Cask. Deep amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is floral and grassy hops with some mild ripe fruits and ryelike notes to it. Flavour is wooden, sweet dark ripe fruits as well as some resiny and mild herbal notes to it. Ends in a mellow bitterness.

Bottle from my local off-licence ‘Wine Rack’. Pours a golden/amber colour with a thin soapy looking white head. Very faint fruity aromas. Taste has peppery spice, some toffee and caramel. Also biscuity with a gentle but lasting earthy hop bitterness finish. No flashy flavours but a Well made decent English Beer.

Rocky white head stayed on clear amber coloured body. Caramel aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a cloying back. Sweet, toffee, caramel & fruity tastes. This is about as Festive as Me Scrooge himself.

Cask @ Castle Hotel, Manchester. Clear golden-amber with a creamy head. It's a fairly bittered hoppy ale in both aroma and taste with sugars evident too.
