Cask @ JDW Elgin 171212 5.6% ABV
Copper brown, clear, frothy white head, good lacing
Aroma of toffee, caramel malts, touch of cereal
Taste of caramel malts, rich toffee malts, some cereal, soft bitter hops in the background, quite easy going for the abv
Palate - medium body, smooth. Finish as main flavour, dryish and bitter, lingering digestive biscuit dunked in caramel, slightly metallic note maybe from the spices
Overall - Certainly one of the better Xmas ales around
