This is a new version of our popular winter off ering, Red Ember, enhanced by the inclusion of Rye malt in the recipe, giving a smoother, biscuity malt character to this flavoursome brew.

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Brownish red and very translucent with a thin and fairly tight khaki head. Malty, metallic and slightly smoky aroma. Sweetish smoky taste followed by a strange sourness that persists to the finish. Some resinous malt with strong toffee notes in the aftertaste. It isn't the most amazing beer. There's character somewhere but it takes some digging.

Half-pint, guest ale on cask at Glue Pot, shared with Finn. Patchy white head, clear mahogany coloured body. Moderate aromas of bread and dark fruits. Creamy malts and nuts to the taste buds added by some impact of dark fruits. Mid-sweet malt-driven finish. Pleasing to a certain degree. (Swindon 26.10.2019).

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Russet colour with thin beige head, some yeast and red berry aromas. Choc malt and yeast on finish. Bit acidic in mouth. Finish has touch of yeasty apple and some dryness and hint of red berry malt
