The Mc Chouffe is an unfiltered dark beer (such as scotch).

Full of character, Mc CHOUFFE delights lovers of dark beer all over the world. Its distinctive flavour, its dark ruby colour and its fine creamy head make it a unique beer. Mc CHOUFFE is also characterised by its spicy aniseed and liquorice flavours, superbly complemented by full-bodied caramel notes. Despite its robustness, Mc CHOUFFE is surprisingly smooth. It even reveals delicious fruity notes, especially pear, as well as a very slight hint of bitterness at the end of the palate. With its 8% alcohol content, like LA CHOUFFE, Mc CHOUFFE is appreciated with the same lightness as its big blond sister.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Murky brown body with a medium tan head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Mild aroma of pear, wood, banana and spice. Flavour of red apple, raisin, prune and sweet malt. Medium body with an oily texture. Fizzy carbonation. A reasonable Belgian Ale.

Draft. Dark brown in color with thin head. Nose is Belgian yeast and brown sugar. Candi sugar, raisins, molasses and light alcohol notes. Body is medium with a creamy texture. Classic example of the style and a must try if you want to learn the dark "dubbel" strong ales. Tasty.

Warm beer with tones of caramel, malt and some herbs. Has the typical yeasty smoothness of La Chouffe.

Tap at Sladovna. Aroma spicy and zesty, orange. Not at all like beer. Clear dark ruby colour. Taste again unlike beer. Spicy. Cinnammon, cardamom. Mostly sweet taste with finish balanced by plain hoppy bitterness. Not bad, not particularly good unfortunately.

(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, ruby colour with a big and off-white foamy head. Slightly sugary dark malty aroma with notes of caramel, an earthy, leafy touch, yeasty spice and subtle notes of candied dates. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, quite full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Robust dark malty base with notes of caramel, leather and liquorice, accompanied by a spicy yeasty touch; sweet bitter and almost chewy dark malty finish with moderately spicy notes. Finally Iยดd prefer the blond Chouffe. 07.V.13
