Bottle 33cl. @ Eus' place, thanks mate, poured into a pilsner vase. Clear amberbrown colour, small frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma roasted malts, caramel, raisins, alcohol notes. Smooth taste light light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, caramel, raisins, fortified wine, candy sugar, alcohol notes. Above medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste with growing bitterness towards the end, roasty notes, not that boozy, very nice.

Bottle [from trade with RW80] @ home. Typical barley wine reddish dark amber color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, caramelish, some notes of raisins, quite bitter, some alcohol present in the flavor but that's no surprise and is ok in a barley wine I'd say. Decent body, a bit thin texture, decent carbonation. Ok. Edit: gets better and more smooth after a while. Up to 3.6 from a 3.3.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ W van Schaik, Vianen. Clear dark amber with virtually no head. Heavy caramel aroma with faint hops. Sweet taste with some astringency. Boozy finish. Not a very subtle barley wine but pleasant enough for the moment.

Bottle. Color: In netween ruby and copper, beige head. Taste: Pretty sweet, in combination with very noticeable hopbitterness, notes of raisins, lightly hints of nuts and red fruit. More bittery mouthfeel at finish. Medium to above medium body, below average carbonation. High alcohol percentage barely recognizable. Nice and smooth barley wine. I am curious how this beer tastes after longer ageing.
