Here in Colorado we are blessed with abundant natural beauty.
Smokejumpers are those fearless wildland firefighters who specialize in parachuting into the wilderness so that we can continue to enjoy it. Smokejumper Imperial Porter is a tribute to them - a twenty-one degree plato porter made with barley malt hand- smoked by our brewers. Roasty brown in color, the long lingering smokiness wraps around flavors of molasses, toasted malt and an earthy hoppiness. Here’s to smoke in your glass, not in the woods. Smokejumper is the official beer of The National Smokejumper Association.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/24/2014. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, wood smoke, toast, molasses, light char, light dark fruits, herbal hops, and roast/smoke earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/smoked malt moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, molasses, wood smoke, light char, light dark fruit, herbal hops, and roast/smokey earthiness. Fair amount of herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, molasses, wood smoke, light char, light dark fruit, herbal hop, and roast/smokey earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice balance, complexity, and robustness of dark/roast/smoked malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial smoked porter! All around great complexity and balance of dark/roast/smoked malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle split pour. Pours coffee black with a nice, super smokey aroma. Wow. Incredible beer. Full of smoked flavor with a nice chocolate background. Very impressed. Memorable. Solid beer. Loved it.

Draft at the Hanshin Seed Event. Black pour tan head. First impression: bacon. Then more of a honeyed ham the second time around. Smooth mouthfeel, the flavor is solid smoked ham & mesquite. Good stuff.

Location: Bottle shared by jcos split with dbarnold and Pinsky, 5/25/14
Aroma: This beer has a really nice smoky and malty aroma to it
Appearance: The pour is a dark brown color with a smallish tan head and light lace
Flavor: The flavor is smoky and a little sweet, with some nice balancing hops
Palate:The body is medium, it has a clean, almost dry finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: I'd be meaning to try this for a while, as I had always heard it is one of the better examples of the style out there. Plenty of smoke and meat flavors. It did not disappoint, This is a really nice one.

zwart bier, met schuimige bruine kraag die bovendien goed plakkerig is. aroma van lichte rookmouten, chocolade, behoorlijk zoetig, gebrande/geroosterde mouten en vanille. smaken: redelijk zoet, zwak bitter, sterk, redelijk moutig (geroosterd-gebrand), vanille, zachte rooktoets, alcoholosch, glad/romig, chocoalde, koffie, lichte laurier, kalk droog. medium tot volle body, romig en glad van textuur, lage co2. ja dit biertje heeft mij wel blij gemaakt, prima te drinken --- Beer merged from original tick of Smokejumper Smoked Imperial Porter on 23 May 2018 at 14:15 - Score: 8

Smoke is very well integrated here. Pours black/cloudy brown with good head and lacing. Smells smokey but well tended. Some roasty malt and dark chocolate. Finishes with some light bitterness. Soft carbonation. Thanks to CraftyCarl for this recommendation. Tap at Churchkey.
