Bottle from GBBF 2010. Clear orange gold, thin off white head. Lovely resiny hoppy aroma. Decent in the mouth with some Turkish Delight type rose fruit. Ok on finsh, the bitterness builds in the mouth in a tantalising way. Rather drinkable and very drinkable. A session beer.

From a 355ml bottle on 21/8/2010. This one reminds me of a slightly milder version of James Squire’s IPA. Has a malt, apple and spice aroma. There are flavours of roasted malt, toffee and a bit of fruit, with decent dose of hops. A solid IPA and better than the ratings here suggest.

Small, yellow-tinted head, leaving lace over desperately clear copper-coloured beer. Sweet, like artificial sweetener as aspartame or saccharine in the nose. Together with (quite) some caramel, some cardboard, but as to hops....? More caramel in the taste, with a toasted, and sharp-vegetable bitterness. Again, hops are conspicously absent. Pretty spritzy mouthfeel, despite little visible carbonation. Again a nearly medicinal bitterness in the aftertaste, but calling it hoppy would be... perverse. Seen what IPA means elsewhere, and certainly Stateside, this is a direct disaster. To be avoided.

6pack sampler Beer #3. Its described as a hop lovers delight which it really isn’t. There is subtle hoppiness but overall decent balance with some caraml and bitter. very cookie cutter IPA but enjoyed while tidying up apartment.

12oz bottle. Gold with a rapidly fading white head; honeyed aroma; light pine resin and citrus flavour with an oily body; and a decently bitter finish. Not as extreme as many American IPAs, but a good example of what the style originally was in my opinion.

Bottle: Copper coiloured, medium-sized white head, sticking to the glass; moderate to robust aromatic hoppy nose with a certain fruitiness underneath; moderate dry bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering dry hoppy finish with malty traces underneath. Not great, but quite good.....
