St-Feuillien’ Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde ale, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang. Saison, the latest in a long line of top-quality St-Feuillien beers, is a “hoppy”, unfiltered bee that is so emblematic of the rich Belgian tradition.

Bottle. Orange blonde color. Toffee and hints of citrus an pepper in the aroma and flavor. Soft vinous notes. Cardboard. Still within the best before dat, but seems to be past its peak.

Thanks Matija Milan and Tea! Peachy-golden body with a lasting off white head. Interesting arona, again peachy notes, sugary and spicy. Smooth taste, the maltiness does come out front and the body is slightly higher than expected, but not by much, flowery and citric touches, light phenols. Quite tasty really, even if obviously not freshest.

Bottle, 330 ml, courtesy of Max. Shared with him and Miro B. Cloudy orange, medium white head. Yeasty, vague fruity notes, some spices, sweetish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Malt, yeast, banana notes. Taste: Malt, yeast, herbal notes, banana hints, decent hopbitterness. Medium sweet, moderate to medium bitter. Pretty nice Saison, good value for money.

Smell - weak, maybe some hops. Foam - large, creamy white with yellow tones, to the thin side, but soft and little creamy, some weak bitterness to sides. Appearance - hazy, orange brown color, not too good looking. Taste - bitter, hops, some acidic feel, some citrus, generally ok, but nothing too special.

Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.

Bouteille de 330 ml. Au nez, on détecte l’aspect granuleux du malt ainsi que des esters de clou de girofle en entrée. Viennent ensuite son coté herbacé et champêtre. Grosse mousse effervescente et rocailleuse recouvre le liquide doré très légèrement voilé. Son effervescence frappe le palais en entrée de bouche, suivie d’esters aux subtiles notes de banane et d’une finale herbacée laissant trainer une légère astringence en fin de bouche. L’effervescence est intense; comme tous les produits Belges de ce style. De corpulence moyenne avec une texture souple. L’intensité des houblons est plus poignante qu’à l’habitude due au ‘’dry hopping’’. Toutes les caractéristiques d’une bonne saison Belge sont ici réunies avec une intensité des houblons plus marquée.
