St-Feuillien’ Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde ale, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang. Saison, the latest in a long line of top-quality St-Feuillien beers, is a “hoppy”, unfiltered bee that is so emblematic of the rich Belgian tradition.

330 ml bottle best before 28.11.17. Pours unclear amber coloured with big fluffy head. Banana, coriander, orange cest, basement notes, grapefruit, some vanilla. Dry bitterness, some fruity sourness. Medium bodied, lively carbonated, watery to oily texture, dry finish, crisp and refreshing. Nice Saison.

75cl. The beer starts fresh and floral. Funky with malty bitterness. Sessionable with a fresh floral back, light in body with a nice dry grainy aftertaste. Funk is there, very dry in body, round and sessionble.

Bottle. Hazy light amber pour with good off-white head. Aroma: fruit, spicy yeast, hay, straw. Medium body. Medium dry taste. The maltiness is present still not leading. Yeast and fruit define the picture. Hoppy ending. Good.

Bottle from Brewklopedia, Leicester. Shared at home. Dark gold, cloudy with a very thin layer of white head. Lemon, grapefruit and light herbal notes complement the doughy aroma. In the taste, there's sweetness from the yeast but this is all about the light refreshing bitterness of the hop. Notable tartness in the long finish with citrus and vinous flourishes in the aftertaste. Alcohol is hidden very well. The body is on the thin side with high carbonation. An excellent drink.
