Thurbo Stout got its name from the village nearby, these days spelt Turbo. A rich Imperial stout brewed on a range of malts, oatmeal and smoked malt. The smoked malt is present give a complexity to the roasted notes. A great beer to enjoy with a chocolate dessert.

Bottle. Thanks to whoever brought it! Almost black body, off white head. Heavy malty aroma, chicory?chocolate? Dry malty taste, chocolatey, light roastiness, woody touches, well hidden alcohol. Nice stuff.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, oats, nuts and dark fruit. Pours pitch black with thin quickly diminishing brown head. Taste starts with sweet licorice, dark fruits and a bit sour coffee, follows by roasted malt and alcohol, mouthfeel is warming and mild spicy, while finish is grassy bitter. Full body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Pure hop'n'roast...

Pours pitch black, topped with thin beige head, not lasting. Medium roasty nose with some dry fruits in the back, a bit of bourbon. Creamy and medium thick body. Slight chocolate sweetness, hints of roastiness, bittery finish. Slight warming alcohol. A bit of rosstiness in the aftertaste. Very decent for that price.

Bottle, 0.33l. Thick black pour, one finger beige head, quickly diminishing. Rich nose, lots of cocoa and coffee, wood notes, caramel... Delicious. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Average texture, not as thick as expected. Very smooth palate. Roasty bittersweet taste. Rich aroma, beautifully balanced and complex. Roasted malts, caramel, cocoa powder, coffee. Espresso-like aftertaste. Wood notes. Raisins. Boozy touch, slight alcohol burn. Slightly sticky, quite dry. Lasting finish, dry and boozy, a bit bitter. Overall, very tasty imperial stout. Delicious beer to savour slowly.
