Bottle @ THT. Clear a bit rusty orange color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts, hops, a little too much overripe sweet hops. Taste malts, hops, again a little overripe fruits again, some caramel. Decent body and carbonation.

Bottle, spiked like a lizard. Aroma is very hoppy, with citrus, passion fruit and mild caramel. Taste is a fruit fest, with citrus, peach, passion fruit and a nice caramelised malty body. Great beer.

500ml bottle [celebrating the All Blacks historical triumph]. Slightly cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting and lacing, off-white head. Citrusy and piney, resinous, hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, a touch of pineapple, some lemon peel, a touch of mint and eucalyptus, caramel malty basis with an almond touch. Taste is pungent bitter hoppy, citrusy, malty background with an almond touch, slightly washy fruitiness, lemon-orange-pineapple-grapefruit; lemongrass, mint, balm and eucalyptus interludes in the last third. Refreshing, throttled lively carbonation, lasting bitter finish. It’s a hop monster, but I try to take it untouched as Richie McCaw would do.

Bottle @ derat, small sample. Clear orange to amber color, short head. Aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, some pine, sweet caramel and toffee. Quite sweet in taste, soft to medium bitterness. Caramel, toffee. Bit too sweet for my liking.

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. A month off it’s BBD. Very hazy, reddy amber. Swirly, lasting, white head. Rich, thick, stewed hop. Minty toffee. Bit of marzipan. Oily herb. Hint of vanilla. Taste is sticky sweet, turning big, herby, punchy bitter. Very chewy and resinous. Palate is all of that. Soft carbonation. Finishes lip sticking sweet, and long, slightly boozy, chewy, resinous bitter. Massively tasty. Half a world away from fresh, but I loved this.

Lightly hazy gold beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is finely minerally crisp. The smooth pale malts impart a little sweetness. Rich skunky hops and thick pine. Mild hop spice. Trace of tropical friuts. Spicy skunky finish. A very rich DIPA but it’s also incredibly drinkable. Excellent stuff.

Keg at BD CJ. It pours clear dark orange-amber with a small beige head. The rich, oily, stewed orange, peach, marmalade, toffee and apricot tart. The taste is rich, bitter-sweet, piney, resinous, alcohol boost, wood, peppery spice, grapefruit rind, mild astringency, hop burn, dank skunky hoppage, damp leaves, grassy, toffee, soap with a long, lingering bitter finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Big old hop-bomb. Although I enjoy many aspects of this beer it is pretty rough around the edges. Quite a lot of alcohol & IBU boost though. Alright, but not quite what I had hoped for.
