Christmas present from my daughter. Black with a cream head. Aroma of caramel whiskey malt. Flavour is dark woods, sticky dark fruits, whiskey warm notes. Jam like fruit finish.

C: dark chestnut brown
N: slightly metallic, roasted malt, faint acidity, caramel, candied sugar
P: med bodied, flat, candied sugar, caramel, whisky completely faded out, perhaps just a sliver of barrel wood. Alcohol well tucked away, but otherwise not a beer I'd turn back to.

Poured dark brown in color.
Sweet almond cakey with spicy yeasty notes, hint of banana. Whiskey is showing. Warming, not really that boozy.

Deep amber colour, small foamy head. Aroma is banana and some mild toffee with mild wood and some toffeeish tones. Flavour is toffee, some wood and some mild alcohol wood and mild "whisky burn".

Deep brown with murky tendencies. But malts, dark fruits, oak, whisky, booze, spice, caramel. Medium bodied. Big beer with this one. Woof. Full on.

A small bottle from the off-licence opposite Jing Mei fire station. Aroma: fresh, malty and inviting; no suggestion of whiskey. Appearance: opaque cola, big creamy tan head. Palate: to my surprise not as full-bodied as I would expect, average carbonation; the finish is slightly tart, along with a powerful alcoholic kick in the guts - great! Taste: lightly-sweet with plenty of malt, rock candy, almonds, Dundee cake. After the initial hit, the alcohol is discreet, good work, well-crafted. This might be the strongest beer I’ve rated to date, and I love it.

Pours brown with a large fading head.
Nose shows caramel, candy sugar, sultanas, raisins, soft booze, spicy phenols.
Flavours include raisins, brown sugar, treacle, the faintest hint of whisky and soft lingering booze in the finish.

Barwa brązowo rubinowa, prawie klarowna. Piana koloru ecru, wysoka, trwała o konsystencji bitej śmietany. Jest niesamowicie sztywna.
W aromacie rządzą nuty słodowe, chlebowe, są dość ciężkie. Te z kolei uzupełnione są jeszcze o akcenty szlachetnego alkoholu, jest bardzo przyjemnie. Po lekkim ogrzaniu wychodzą pyszne nuty ciemnych owoców, tak smażonych jak i suszonych. W tle lekka popiołowość domyka walory zapachowe tego trunku.
Smak jest podobnie jak aromat wyśmienity. Tutaj pierwsze są ciemne owoce, dalej nuty chlebowe, słodowe, whisky. Te ostanie są tu dodatkiem, dodają charakteru, pazura. Smak jest idealnie zrównoważony, jest bogaty, ale nie ma tu chaosu. Podobnie jak w aromacie ciągłą pojawiają się akcenty popiołowe.
Idealnie ukryty alkohol, przypominam 11,7% to nie byłe co, to duży plus, a lekkie rozgrzewanie przełyku niepowinno tu nikogo dziwić. Wysycenie średniowysokie, nie przeszkadza. Treściwość na poziomie powyżej średniego, dodaje lekkosci i świeżości. Faktura płynu jest gładka i miękka.

Jasno brązowa, klarowna barwa. Piana koloru złamanej bieli. Jest niska, 2-3cm, zbudowana z drobnych pęcherzyków, trwała. Nieregularnie krążkuje.
Aromat słodki słodowy, karmelowy, z nutami ciemnych, suszonych, smażonych owoców i wtrąceniami akcentów szlachetnego alkoholu. Zapach jest, jeśli można tak powiedzieć, "elegancki".
Smak generalnie słodki (oczywiście nieprzesadnie), minimalnie kwaskowy (owocowy) z lekką, paloną goryczką na finiszu.
Alkohol delikatnie rozgrzewa. Wysycenie średnie w dół. Ciało pełne. Tekstura płynu jest gładka. Posmak średnio długi, słodki słodowy z towarzyszącą mu goryczką.

Dark brown colour, almost black, small frothy head that disappears quickly, fair lacing. Aroma is dried dates, dried figs, some whisky that stays in the aftertaste. Alcohol is warming but does not disturb. Light bitterness. Medium to full body, lively carbonation that works well and gives a creamy mouth feel. Very good! Like Rochefort 10 but with extra whisky flavour.
