We've finally teamed up with our friends at Pizza Port Brewing Co., one of our favorite breweries in San Diego. When deciding what to make, we figured something excessively hoppy was the logical choice, and so this collaboration brew was born. This triple IPA is an intensely hoppy and bitter San Diego-style India pale ale. The light malt character and light body allow aggressive notes of pine, mango, and citrus fruits to overtake the palate, while a dry finish allows it to remain crisp and refreshing. Make the Logical Choice and enjoy this beer immediately, much like the brewers did leaving work to enjoy it in sunny San Diego. Cheers!

Super clear golden, orange, peach, copper and even a pinkish/ruby glow with a faint haze, just due to such a rich coloured body. A thick three to four centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat for a long time is there as well. Pungent aroma of citrus, grass, resin, alcohol, deep malts, metal, astringency, flowers and a bit of yeastie funk. Full-bodied; Super rich malt bite shows at first, with a deep grassiness and some light floral notes that bends to more of a grapefruit, citrus and piney flavour towards the end that is slightly dank, but very dry and super pungent, of course. Aftertaste shows the deep and pungent malts with tons of alcohol, a lot of sweetness from fruits and caster sugar, not to mention the resin, that doubles in the hop bitterness. Overall, a relatively nice 'real' Imperial IPA that has a lot of dry and herbal notes to go with the resin, grapefruit, grass and especially the medicinal/astringent notes with all the alcohol and malt. Nice to try, but I was expecting a bit more from these two great breweries. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 19-May-2020 for US$5,29 sampled at my house here in Washington on 21-July-2020, my fifteenth metiversary (the day I met my wife for the first time, in Costa Rica, of all places) for my wife an I.

Pours a clear, dark golden yellow, with minimal head. Aroma is very grassy, with lots of floral elements, hops, bread. Flavor largely follows, with lots of pine/spruce hops. The alcohol content is well-hidden in both the aroma and flavor.

Appearance is golden and clear (cloudy when the sediment comes out) a solid 1-2 finger white head. Aroma- caramel, wheaty malt, hop resin, pineapple, stone fruit, honey-glazed fruit. Taste- fruity hops, sweet caramel, bread, honey hints, orange, pithy fruits, sugary sweetness, not much bitterness.

On tap at Malmö Brewing Taproom. Hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, citrus, light mango and hops. The same in the taste. Quite sweet and with some warming alcohol in the finish. A bit old?

Taster at John B Pub. Pours a bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is a bit sweet with candied oranges. Taste is a bit sweet with citrusy hoppy bitterness and some boozy notes. It's ok for Triple IPA.
