For anyone who finds strawberries irresistible, Timmermans Strawberry evokes the fragrance of long sunny days. Its strawberry flavour will have you wrinkling your nose in delight with each sip. Its luminous colour and its fruity freshness are a treat for taste-buds and eyes alike. A totally juicy experience.
Timmermans Strawberry Lambicus is brewed by adding natural juice to lambic beer, a blend that is then fermented in oak barrels. After which it is bottled.
Taste wise… Its aroma evokes the perfumes of a lovely summer’s day. Its strawberry flavour confirms the nose’s impression, without being over-sweet, and is enhanced by a real feeling of freshness, recalling those tiny green granules that are found around ripened strawberries. Its taste is consistent and spreads very quickly throughout the mouth, finishing on a note that is fruity rather than sweet.

Cloudy red with a white head. Aroma is very sweet with artificial strawberry. Flavor is very sweet and so is the finish. There is nothing dry or acidic about this, which makes this more of a soda than a beer. Much too sweet. 120610

Random buy at the big Carrefour in Ypres because I reckoned I never had anything from this brewery. Murky amber-red body. Stale strawberry jam nose, fresh strawberry jam taste. All there is to it. One can do far worse with a fruit beer.

Bottle. Pours with a strawberry colored body with a white to slightly off-white head. Aroma is huge of strawberry jam and preserves. Very sweet and slightly vinous in the aroma. Flavor is tart with artificial strawberry, jam, sugar with a light lingering vinegar note. Lively, somewhat dry and lightly acidic. Beats the hell out of Lindemans as far as sweetened lambics go (not saying much). Surprisingly somewhat drinkable.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy reddish amber with a small off-white head. Very sweet strawberry notes, a little cheese and salt as well. Light body, sweet strawberry and cheese dip. No tartness whatsoever. Weird indeed. 150211

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange to redish with a small off-white head. Aroma is distinct strawberry fruity and slight citric. Sweet, candy and sugarish. Sweet and sticky strawberry finish. Vague tart note.

Bottle from Ledgers. I never expect a lot from John Martin, but upon opening strawberry wafted a foot to my nose. Pours medium tea color with a fomay off-white head. Aroma is strawberry with a hint of bubble gum. Med minus body; piquant carb. It’s not really sweet, and it’s lightly tart. Such little funk as there is can be imagined when all the liquid goes away. Gotta say it is way better than expected, and though it’s not very funky, I think it qualifies as lambic. Much better than some of those syrupy ones. The strawberry flavor pervades, but it is arguably subtle. Arguably.

On tap at the Brick Store Pub. Pours dark gold with a medium tan head. The aroma is unmistakable strawberries, with notes of other fruit, apples and cherries. The flavor is very sweet, more like a cider than a lambic. The body is heavy, and the mouthfeel is dry and sticky. Closer to a sparkling juice than a beer.

Bottle at the Top of the Hops Beer Festival, Charlottesville, VA, 9/11/10. Pours a hazy strawberry color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet sugary strawberry candy. The taste is predominantly sugary sweet candy, but there is a very faint cheesy mustiness if you really look for it. Medium bodied.
