For anyone who finds strawberries irresistible, Timmermans Strawberry evokes the fragrance of long sunny days. Its strawberry flavour will have you wrinkling your nose in delight with each sip. Its luminous colour and its fruity freshness are a treat for taste-buds and eyes alike. A totally juicy experience.

Timmermans Strawberry Lambicus is brewed by adding natural juice to lambic beer, a blend that is then fermented in oak barrels. After which it is bottled.

Taste wise… Its aroma evokes the perfumes of a lovely summer’s day. Its strawberry flavour confirms the nose’s impression, without being over-sweet, and is enhanced by a real feeling of freshness, recalling those tiny green granules that are found around ripened strawberries. Its taste is consistent and spreads very quickly throughout the mouth, finishing on a note that is fruity rather than sweet.

0.33L bottle, smal head, murky light red colour, aroma of strawberry, plum and red wine, flavour of strawberry and some spice, could use a lot more sourness but suprisingly good overall.

Re-rate 7/17/11: Bottle. Murky red with a small pinkish beige head. Strawberry candies all over. Faint tart notes. Strong carbonation. 5/3/5/3/10=2.6

Bottle sample during a Beer-D Parliament meeting. Cloudy deep orange with a white head. Aroma of strawberry-flavored bubblegum and some medicinal quality. Sweet flavor of strawberry candies and light tart notes in the finish. Feels quite artificial and too sweet but still drinkable. 5/3/5/3/10=2.6

[330ml bottle at the Retreat, Reading] Odd murky orange-pink colour with a small cream head. Strong, sickly smell of artificial Nesquick strawberry. Candyfloss in the flavour is balanced by the sparkling carbonation, and a dry, sour woody taste behind to make a drink that is more light and refreshing than the aroma would suggest. Don’t believe it’s seen a real strawberry in its life though.

Another addition to the Timms fruit beer lineup, surprised no one has found it yet here. Could be a new addition. Pours with barely any head, and that disappears very quickly. Smells like strawberry syrup. Seriously. If you stick your nose in long enough you can detect some vague hints of alcohol and gasp, beer, but it’s a stretch for sure. Taste is very weak beer overpowered by a strong strawberry syrup taste. Very poor balance between artificial sugariness and lambic beer here. Nice to drink because I like sweet drinks, but this ain’t lambic. Definitely not.
