When BIIR joined us in the brewhouse, it meant bringing together American and Belgian brewing styles. We blended fresh fruit and Belgian yeast, as well as American and European aroma hops. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor.

A unique summer ale that blends fresh melon fruit with a light-bodied India Pale Ale and gentle bitterness. Savour the delicate interplay between American and European aromatic hops.

From tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2017. Aroma is very fruity with tropical notes and mostly lots of melon. Flavour is light sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is light and watery with lively carbonation. Decent beer, but a bit thinner than I expected.

Tap @ Bierfestival Albergen. Melon in the aroma. Tea Leaves. Served too cold to smell much more. Grassy hopsflavor with melony notes. Thinnish. Tasty.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orangey, pale golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy aroma, notes of honeydew melon with a minimally waxy touch of glue, some apricot an dmirabelle, cautious citrusy hints of mandarine. Taste is bitter hoppy, fruity, minimally sweet, pale malty background, hints of melon and mirabelle; minimally mineral and chalky finish.

IPA with melon, interesting idea. Bottle shared by tderoeck at 77ships’s place, cheers guys! Lacing, snow white, thin and loosely structured head over a hazy golden blonde beer with greenish hue and visible, lively fizz. Aroma does have some fresh green melon flesh next to soap, green banana, star fruit, white bread dough, lemon zest, bath foam. Fruity flavour, in a clean kind of way, with pineapple and unripe banana notes penetrated by a clear but still subtle melon flavour, medium carbonation, supple pale malt body with softening bready edges, mild bitter finish, a tad citrussy with that thin melon flavour lingering on - in a way that is a tad too subtle I think; this beer needs to be taken to its own extremes, with more sweet fresh melon flavour and more hops. Too subdued in this form compared with what I was expecting, but elegant enough.

Thank you tderoeck! Late night tasting @ home. 330 ml. bottle sampled. Hazy orange, creamy off-white head. Nose is overly carbonated soap with cleaning product melon. Taste is rubbish far too carbonated soap, cleaning product, body is the same with indeed some melon in the finish. Fruit is there but this is not what an IPA should be.

15/VII/17 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk), shared @ post-Billies cool-down at 77ships' place (Antwerpen) - BB: 6/I/18 (2017-1028)

Clear blond to orange beer, lots of specks floating around in the beer under a big irregular head, bit adhesive, some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of carbon-dioxide, fruity, melons, some peaches and apricots. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of citrus, little bitter, bit sourish. Aftertaste: fruity, pretty hoppy and bitter, resinous, very dry finish. Didn't get a lot of melons though, maybe that has faded by now?
