9th July 2018, Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez Sophie. Cheers Mike for the 375ml bottle of this. Poured an oil slick black, the head a tanned affair. Viscous body, nose of sweet malty molasses and coffee, taste is a rich coffee and vanilla blend with semi-sweet maltiness. Didn't even notice the alcohol!

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark opaque black pour with a deep tan head that disappeared pretty quick, aroma has rich malts, slight bourbon, taste has chocolate, big roast, slight vanilla, heavy bourbon action, coffee, mouthfeel is quite thin, was expecting more viscosity, alcohol burns slightly, but a decent big beer.

Sample at MBCC 2018. Poured almost black with a frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, dry coffee, chocolate, vanilla, just as it says on the tin! The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a roasty, liqouirce, chocolate coffee palate. Boozy but nicely balanced. Full bodied with flat carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. Superb.
