On tap at Patrick’s. An unclear chestnut colored beer with a finger thick dense dark beige head leaving lacing. Coconut, dark sugar, vanilla, hints of licorice and some coffee notes in the aroma. It’s full bodied, sweet and smooth on the palate, with a little warmth. Roasted malts, vanilla, dark sugar, licorice, coconut and a nutty touch in the flavor, with a little bitterness to smoothen things. Lasting sweet finish with an earthy touch. Quite nice, although a tad sweet. 170817

Draught at Bådin Ølfestival. Low fawn-coloured head, patchy layer, dark brown body. Rather sweet aroma of nut-like malts. Taste of nuts, lactose and marmalade. Lingering sweet malty end. Okay sipper, rather sweet and unvaried. (Bodø 19.05.2017).

10.02.2017, tap @ Bergen International Whisky & Beer Festival:
Tiny fizzy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish grassy, weeds, minerals, bark, dark malts, sour grass, unripe banana peel, dark sugar, coconut, sour coffee. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, grass, bark, dark malts, alcohol, medicine, old cellar, paper, almond essence, hints of coconut. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

On tap @ Vinyl. A deep and dark brown looking one with a small filmy brownish sidesticking top. On the nose it's slightly sweet. Lots of dark sugar. A bit disappointing to be honest. Hints of nuts and cake. Nah. Tastes pretty much the same. Lots of dark sugar alcohol sweetness. Feels mild oily in the mouth and it's just above average on the carbonation. Nutty all the way, boozy and generally not very good. 20.05.2017

Hazy red brown colour. Aroma and flavour have plenty of rich malts. There’s a woody dryness too.

Tap at Kaapse 3rd Anniversary. Hazy dark brown with offwhite head. Sweet roasted chocolate and caramel malts, coconut, creamy. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Bit little aroma for what I expected. --- Beer merged from original tick of Imperial Coconut Porter - Coco’s Nuts on 08 Jan 2018 at 13:07 - Score: 7
