Brugse Bok finds its origin in the German and Dutch tradtions of the seasonal bock beers.
The beer has a hazy brown colour and a sturdy foam collar. The orama can be described as spicy and fruity. A slight bitterness is typical for the pallet of this beer, yet tastes of caramel and raisins can also be discovered.
45 EBC, 15° plato.

Bouteille: Mahagony coloured, almost clear, stable and creamy beige head, tired carbonation, light fruity and toasty nose with a "medical" hoppy touch; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, pretty light bodied, bjt creamy MF; short - slightly drier - bitter sweet , mainly malt-accented, finish. A very tame brew…

330ml bottle - Clear dark reddish brown beer, a long lasting beige head. Aroma of toffee, malts, some fruits. Flavour is soft and sweet, malty, caramel, some chocolate. Just a little bitterness in the ending.A very nice beer, that to be honest surprised me as it was a better dubbel than the Brugse Zot Dubbel!

Bottle in Bruges. Hazy reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Brown sugar, toasty malty, slightly woody, a bit spicy aroma. Somewhat metallic notes in the flavor along with notes of caramel, spice, and dark fruit.

Bottled. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, bread, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, metal, bread, and malt, leading to a dry finish. The alcohol tickles the tongue.

May 2010: Brown 33cl bottle, poured into a fluted 30cl ’Paderborner Goldpilsner’ glass. I don’t have a Zot glass, the substitute is the closest in design I have. A dark tanned head sat on top of deep reddish brown body. A retension of the head rarely seen on Bock beers, was very impressive. Sweet caramel and molassas hit your nose, then as the beer warms the smell turns more malty and beery. Malt dominates the taste, sweet maltloaf without it sticking to your teeth, fairly thin bodied for a Bock, but certainly not watery. A beer produced for Brugge tourists more than Belgian beer lovers, this wouldn’t win any awards but is OK if you haven’t had a Bock before.

31/12/2011 33cl bottle @ De Heeren van Liedekercke - BBE: 8/ 2013 (2011-745)

Little cloudy reddish brown beer, light beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: some caramel, flowers, spices star anise. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: some caramel, sour fruits, touch of mocha, tart appel, overripe fruits (plums), spices, liquorish. Aftertaste: mocha, some caramel. I would not call it a bok, but it's pretty ok.

Served on tap... Aroma has some cork and oak. Thin texture. Has a mild bittersweet flavour and a metallic finish. Rather bland.
