Brugse Bok finds its origin in the German and Dutch tradtions of the seasonal bock beers.
The beer has a hazy brown colour and a sturdy foam collar. The orama can be described as spicy and fruity. A slight bitterness is typical for the pallet of this beer, yet tastes of caramel and raisins can also be discovered.
45 EBC, 15° plato.

330 ml bottle @ Heeren van Liederkercke. Dark amber body with a creamy beige head. Aroma is mostly fruty, light spicy and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malty, brown sugar, spices and fruity. Medium body. Quite nice and balanced without being special in any direction, just nice.

Very nice dark brown color with a fine red glare coming through. Just my color. Smell caramel, little chocolate and raisins. Taste is ok.

Big beige head. Deep brown body with carbonation. Dried fruits and spice aroma with toffee and candy notes. Dry-sweet earthy licorice taste with cinnamon notes. Light body. Mild, powdery mouthfeel. Dry cocoa, wood and spice aftertaste with herbal notes. Nice, but a bit arid and dry. (0.33l bottle, De Heeren van Liederkercke, shared by Ole_R.)

Bottle at Wachi. Malty, bready aroma with lots of caramel, some chocolate, raisins, dried plum, plus spiciness from the Belgian yeast. Nice Belgian bok nose. Slight roasty, malty flavor with caramel, dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, raisins. Not as nice as the nose, but decent. Somewhat prickly carbonation shows it isn’t German. Nice.

Bottled 330ml (Beer Planet, BB 08/2011)
Dark ruby color, steady beige head. Caramel, dried dark fruits, tart note and cardboard in the nose. Light to medium bodied. Active carbonation. Flavor is quite par to aroma: some caramel, balsamico, dark fruits. Almost watery. Uninspiring brew.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. An amber, clear beer topped by an off-white to beige head. Dried fruits, rum-soaked raisins and caramel on the nose. The mouthfeel is dry, full-bodied and a bit warm, with a slight papery touch. Caramel, dried fruits and malty sweetness in the flavor, low on bitterness. A pleasant beer. Rating: 6-4-7-4-13-3.4. 091024

Bottle, at De Heeren van Liedekercke. A slightly unclear one, with microfloaties and a brown body. Creamy head of finger size thickness, light beige in color. The aroma is quite hoppy, some roasted malts and caramel, and with a fruity and sweetish touch. Some grassy, peppery and piney hops. The flavor has some alcohol, but mostly it’s dried fruits and roasted malts. Bitterness, roasted malts and sweetness towards the end. A bit thin on the palate, but smooth and also slightly warming. Not much bock-like, didn’t expect that either, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 110501
